Job Description

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is the largest growing government funded  programme in the United Kingdom for young people between the ages of 15 -17. It’s an opportunity for you people to embark on exhilarating challenges, make their mark and build skills for work and life. It is a 4 week programme broken down in to 3 phases.

Phase 1 - Adventure – Kingswood Isle of Wight

A chance for the young people to challenge themselves and get out of their comfort zone on a 5 day residential away from home. Living with their team at an outdoor activity centre, they will get to know some amazing new people and enjoy some quality time away from home. The young people will get to take on some adrenaline-fueled challenges like rock climbing, canoeing, hiking and archery to name a few.

Phase 2 –

Skills – Essex Army Cadet Force

The young people return home for the weekend and then come back away with us for another 5 day residential at Essex Army Cadet Force. Young people will get to take part in lots of skills based workshops designed to develop life skills like confidence, leadership and communication. We also run CV workshops to help students become more attractive to future employers, apprenticeships, colleges and universities.

Phase3
Social Action – Based locally in Thurrock; exact location will be confirmed soon.

The final phase where the young people put everything they’ve learnt over the last few weeks into practice with their very own social action project. A project that they design and deliver from the ground upwards to benefit someone or something in their community.

Then to celebrate their achievements with family and friends, they have the chance to attend a graduation event and receive their certificate signed by our Prime Minister. Young people from then on get exclusive access to potential volunteering opportunities and apprenticeships as well as amazing discounts and big events.
