PERMANENT POST - One Plan Project Manager - Band 7 AFC
The Trust has developed an overarching “One Plan” to support the improvement of Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) at the Trust. As a result there is significant project work to be undertaken within Medicine and Surgery Care Groups and in partnership with Healthy Lives Partnership (HLP) and Livewell South West (LSW). The Trust is seeking 5 Project Managers to work across these departments and organisations to support the delivery of the overall programme.
The post holder will be responsible for the successful implementation of projects identified through the One Plan and related schemes. They will be embedded within the Care Group, HLP or LSW respectively and taking day to day direction from them but will have a direct line of reporting into the Trust’s Portfolio Management Office for peer supervision, consistent and appropriate methodology, and to retain some flexibility to move to support other areas/projects as required.
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The post holder will work alongside and support the Medicine and Surgery Care Groups or the HLP or
LSW teams in the delivery of key projects in support of the One Plan UEC Programme. This will
necessitate the following:
1. Plan, monitor and control multiple assigned projects or workstreams using agreed methodologies
· Develop improvement proposals
· Working to appropriate project governance as agreed with the Trust PMO and One Plan
· Delivering the component packages of work
· Creation and ongoing update of Project Initiation documents to manage the project(s)
· Robust risk and issue management
· Organising own resources and project staff employed elsewhere in the trust as appropriate
· Monitoring and regularly reporting upon project progress
· Monitoring dependencies, risks, issues and divergence from project plans
· Generate contingency plans and recommendations as required
· Work to the project management standards agreed within the Trust PMO
· Ensure that customers and other stakeholders are communicated with as appropriate.
2. Write reports, plans, and with the support of the operational manager occasionally business cases, option
appraisals, cost benefit analysis and impact assessments in support of specific projects and assignments
3. Highlight and escalate risks and/or issues as appropriate to ensure the delivery of projects to time, quality
and budget
4. Attend and support transformation team meetings and reporting
5. Occasionally present reports to the Transformation team or Steering Group meetings
6. Participate actively in activities to foster collaboration between UHP and other organisations such as
Livewell Southwest, social care, Primary Care or education in the delivery of specific projects and
assignments
7. Analysis of customer requirements and production of clear statements of work
8. Work in line with organisation system and process for the management of the Projects
9. The post-holder may be called upon to assist with other duties as reasonably may be required from time to
time to achieve the Trust’s objectives.
