To ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialist forensic psychology service to clients with
learning disabilities and complex needs referred to the Forensic service. This will include
psychological assessment, formulation and provision of individual / group treatment for patients
with a view to addressing specific risk behaviours, alleviating distress and enabling patients to
engage with their care pathways. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining their own
specialist caseload. The post holder will contribute to ongoing assessment of risk using structured
professional judgement tools (e.g. HCR -20, SARA, RSVP, SAPROF).

To provide advice, consultation, teaching and training on clients’ psychological care to non-
psychology colleagues and to promote psychological mindedness amongst the work force. The

post holder will work autonomously within professional practice guidelines and RDASH policies
and procedures. The post holder will contribute to the maintenance of a positive working
environment, and treat all colleagues and patients with dignity and respect. The post holder will
practice in a person-centered way at all times, and actively promote this approach.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and for service related research
within the service.

To supervise and train clinical / forensic psychology trainees from BPS accredited Clinical /
Forensic Psychology Training Courses as required. To provide teaching, training and supervision
to less experienced qualified psychologists and assistant psychologists as appropriate
To contribute to the implementation of the overall Forensic service development strategy as
outlined in both local and national plans, as agreed with Service Manager.
